CROSS TRAINING
Be ready for the Turkey Trot run, the Human Race
run, and of course this springs Bridge Run.... Look for your I'On Swimmers backs...



LY swimmers will enjoy a variety of athletic
challenges outside the pool. Gold and Gold 1 swimmers
routinely exercise and do weight training and have had some awesome games of
ultimate Frisbee. Gold 2
swimmers will start some dryland drills and along with Blue swimmers will
experience a little soccer and some fantastic kickball games. 

Swimmers are athletes. Please encourage your
swimmer, regardless of their training group, to bring sneakers to practice. We
will continue to spend time routinely AND sporadically on various athletic
skills outside the water. We believe developing all round coordination, hand-eye coordination, balance, and general muscular
awareness through games and physical challenges outside the pool helps to
develop more complete swimmers and better all round athletes. Children today
receive far less physical education and even just plain ol'
recess time at school than we did. We will try to help them develop some
awareness of their bodies' abilities and have some good fun too, along side the
usual swim practices. Please be sure your swimmer always has appropriate
clothing for being outside, shoes, sweats, shorts, etc. Thanks for your
